Photograph caption dated September 4, 1958 reads, "Sylmar area pupils will move into new Osceola Street Elementary School Sept. 15, 1958, when 1958-59 school year gets under way at 14940 Osceola St., school was designed for the Los Angeles City Board of Education by architect Victor Gruen and Associates and is one of 10 new schools being opened in Valley this month to provide classroom seats for approximately 11,000 pupils."
