Photograph caption dated Febuary 20, 1959 reads, "Leonard 'Pud' Haynes, former North Hollywood High and Valley College baseball star, signs Baltimore Oriole contract with scout Jim Wilson. Speedy shortstop leaves March 29 for spring training camp in Georgia. Local scout Jack Wilson picked him for signing after following his play for three years."
