Mollie Williams, Papago Indian from Sells, Arizona, weaves a basket in the Indian Arts and Crafts Exhibit, one of the most popular features of the Federal Building displays on Treasure Island. The basket she is making will have a household use in an Indian home, and a definite artistic contribution in any home. The basket is being woven of Yucca grass, with the design in a weed called "devil's claw." Mollie is one of several tribes living in amity "on shipboard" in the Indian Hotel, located on the Navy reservation, Yerba Buena Island. Photo dated: July 5, 1939.
