Photograph of fleet of ships along the port city of Carthagena, on the Spanish Main, [s.d.]. In the extreme foreground, a small boat with a flag near its rudder can be seen floating on the mild waves of the harbor. To the right, two larger boats with small rectangular sails are visible. To the left, two small ships with lowered sails can be seen docked against a thin landmass extending over the water. Two men are visible at the tip of the peninsula, and a thick chain can be seen connecting the tip to a large cylindrical tower to the right. Columns surround the base of the tower and small windows can be seen near its top. In the background, four additional ships can be seen in the large harbor. In the extreme background, a large port city can be seen along the edge of the harbor, and mountain ranges are visible. Caption at bottom of image reads: "Carthagena, on the Spanish Main (From an ancient print)".
