Description
Photographic portrait of Don Pio Pico, the last Mexican governor of California, [s.d.]. The governor, a pudgy, broad man, sits in a chair resting his top hat next to him on the end-table at right. The chair is turned slightly to the right. He wears a longcoat over his vest, both of which are darkly colored and appear to be made out of wool. His furry beard is white and grisly and connects with the muttonchops on either side of his face. His hair, although receding, remains thick. Thick wrinkles form around his eyes as he blinks.
