Slide Series, Bangladesh 1990: "Leprosy - the old scourge" - No. 02: A leper woman with spots. The typical symptoms of leprosy are these bright spots, and the signs all of us associate with the disease. The resistance of the patient against the disease, determines the number of spots and other symptoms. In fact, not everybody are susceptible, only 5-10 % of a population have a resistance limited enough to become infected. However, with no methods to clarify this, everybody must be regarded to be at risk.
