Description: "Dronning Rasoaherina der stansede kristenforfoelgelserne" ("Queen Rasoaherina stopped persecution of the christians"). Rasoaherina reigned during 1863-1868. Both the Queen's gown and cloak are beautifully embroidered. She is also wearing the Queen's crown.
Thomas Joergensen served as a printer for the Norwegian Missionary Society in Madagascar from 1897 to 1945 in the capital Tananarive (Antananarivo). He is the creator of this album. - - He started in a building at Ambohijanahary before switching over to the former Lutheran Hospital at Andohalo in 1904. He worked as a printer for 50 years, only interupted by furloughs in Norway. This album A06, contains the images NMS-345 to NMS-465.
