Photograph of Saint Vincent's Hospital, viewed from Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, ca.1885-1888. Hospital was run by the Sisters of Charity. The large stately 3- to 4-story building sits near a copse of trees on the top of a small hill. Numerous dormer windows dot the eaves and towers of the roof. Three head of cattle graze in a grassy pasture in the foreground. A road runs between the pasture and the hospital grounds.
