Description
Two women wearing Paris dresses from 1831. The woman on the right wears a white dress with wide, puffed, short sleeves. She wears a red and gold brooch with three hanging pearls pinned to the bodice. Attached to the tops of her sleeves are epaulets of folded white and gold ribbon. She wears a white and gold ribbon belt. The skirt is decorated with a gold vine with red flowers. She wears white ballet slippers and long white gloves. She holds a fan in her right hand and a small bouquet of the red flowers similar to those decorating the dress in her left hand. She wears a silver flower necklace and earrings, and a silver flower diadem in her hair. Her hair is in a braided and looped bun decorated with two large feathers. The woman on the left shows the viewer the back view of the same dress. Her dress is blue with the same details and she wears the same ornaments and hairstyle.
