Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated April 24, 1962 partially reads, "A house-to-house search was launched early today for clues in the slaying of two 6-year-old San Fernando girls whose near-nude bodies were found Monday night in an empty refrigerator near their home. Both had been criminally assaulted. San Fernando police chief Winford E. Slaughter said the only persons under investigation so far are 'not very likely suspects.' The girls were Stephanie Hanna, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hanna, 533 Harps St., and Paula Cram, a foster child living with the family. Police said the girls apparently had been dead for about five hours when Slaughter discovered their bodies at 11 p.m. in the garage of Mrs. Leonora Greenfield, 551 Harps St." Photograph caption reads, "Police remove the bodies of two girls from refrigerator. Police believe the children were criminally assaulted."; See images #00131432 through #001317339 for all photos in this series.
