Description
Shown is a postcard, featuring a photograph of a family standing on the I Street Bridge in May 1916. The I Street Bridge is a truss swing bridge built in 1911 to replace a wooden swing bridge that had existed since 1865. Both were designed to accommodate foot and railroad traffic. Several river boats are visible below the bridge and another truss bridge is faintly visible in the background of the photograph.
