Description
A view from the shore of the coal wharf in Alexandria, Virginia. In the center of the image, tied to the wharf are a number of vessels, including the paddle steamer "South America" and, to the right, a smaller steam vessel "Titan". Two men are sitting in the foreground observing the wharf; a woman can be seen partially along the left edge of the image. This image similar to photCL 301 (10). Title on mount: Coal Wharf, Alexandria Va. Handwritten in upper left corner: No. 23.
