Description
Photograph caption dated September 8, 1954 reads, "Land owned by Los Angeles County adjoining above pictured Whiteman Airpark and currently leased by Whiteman, would provide minimum required length--3,000 feet--for drag strip. Norman Hunt, vice president of Burbank's Pharoahs Car Club, points out area now used by Whiteman for parking planes to President Clifford Boyd. Subsequent investigation by Valley Times revealed that every bit of portion of land owned by Whiteman is essential to airpark's operation."
