Pinus aristata. Bristlecone pine at 12,500 feet elevation in the White Mountains, east of Big Pine, Inyo National Forest. 149.5 inches diameter around the stems. Individual diameters: 39.7, 43.2, 55.6, 47.0, 46.8. Tree is probably 1,000 years old as a boring seven inches showed 217 rings. July 1953
