Mel Torme discusses his book, “Traps, the Drum Wonder.” He explains that the book is a biography of his friend Buddy Rich, nicknamed Traps, the Drum Wonder. Traps was a jazz drummer known for his abrasive personality and virtuosity. Torme explains how Traps came to fame while drumming for Artie Shaw and Tommy Dorsey. He goes on to discuss the feud between Traps and Frank Sinatra, as well as, his romantic pursuit of Lana Turner. Also in this interview Torme discusses the ups and downs of his own friendship with Buddy Rich.
