Description: Samuel Addison Bishop (1825-1893) came to California in 1849. He came to San Jose after ranching in southern California. The town of Bishop is named after him. He started the Santa Clara Horse Railroad and was vice-president of the San Jose Savings Bank. Photograph of a painting.
