Description
Corner view of building, automobile in front. Rusticated pilasters divide facade into two sections, windows with balconies, pediment on top.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
"Org. March 1st, 1851. Building erected in the summer of 1854 (Confidence Co.). "919" 3rd St. Hook & Ladder Company #1, (Pioneer Mutual) org. Feb. 5th, 1850. Oldest fire company in the state. Bldg. erected in the summer of 1854."
