Photograph of a tropical scene in the Garden of Notre Dame in San Jose, California, ca.1900. A building with an arched doorway and rectangular windows stands on the right with two chairs sitting out front. The doorway leads to a path which splits into three slightly to the right of center. Small trees and large bushes line the path which leads to the left in the foreground while bushes and tall palm trees line the path that leads to the left in the background. The third path extends to the left directly in front of the doorway and has two small trees at its entrance as well as large palm trees further down the path to the left.
