Shows Marion Montgomery, Helen Phillips (?), and Dan washing dishes around table. Camp stove, box holding supplies, cooking pots scattered around table.
2009-1815.
Beginning in 1901, the Sierra Club held an annual outing into the Sierras, eventually known as the High Trip. Up until 1930, outings led by William Colby. In 1925, 190 hikers trailed by some 150 pack animals and cooks, hiked into that portion of Sierra Nevada mountains forming watershed of the Kings and San Joaquin Rivers. Hikers broke into small groups, exploring various different trails – album follows one small group from the beginning in Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park to its end at Camp 63 (California Edison Company) in Kings Canyon National Park.
