Description
Spike microphone used by Leo Jones for surveillance purposes. Spike mikes could be hidden inside of walls, and connected to transmitters or audio recorders via the audio jack and wire. Leo Hugh Jones (1926 --2002) was an early pioneer in the development of electronic surveillance and countermeasures devices. In 1950, he founded the Fargo Company to design and manufacture these high-tech specialty devices. Based in San Francisco, Fargo sold its products exclusively to law enforcement organizations around the world. In 1965, Jones founded Saber Laboratories to provide countermeasures equipment, a fledgling industry partially induced by the Cold War with Soviet Russia.
