Located outside the boundary wall southeast of Thupārāma, these ruins, earlier presumed to be of the Temple of the Tooth include image houses, a moonstone, guardstones, ornate balustrade and an edifice with pillars, which has ornately carved capitals with depictions of vajras--thunderbolts--the only one of its kind near the Māhāvihara monastic complex.
