Description
Photograph caption dated October 18, 1962 reads, "Roger Allen Manley, 22, 5922 Colfax Ave., North Hollywood, is aided by ambulance attendants after he was shot in the stomach while reportedly attempting to burglarize a safe at Jim and Gil's Community Market, 7670 Hollywood Way, Sun Valley, early Sunday. Manley was reportedly shot by a detective staked out at the market. The suspect remained in critical condition today at Los Angeles County Hospital."
