Description
Photograph of a group of students and their principal, Professor Little, outside of the Pomona Valley Central School at the northwest corner of Ellen Place, ca.1884. The whitewashed wood school building rises two stories above the ground, its tall shuttered windows looking out over a very large hedge which circumscribes the school. Behind the hedge are many trees, mostly tall thin evergreens, while in front of it, is a group of students arranged in an arc facing the camera. There is a mix of boys and girls, and most are wearing hats. A man, possibly Little, in a coat and bowler hat stands at the right of the group, and there are two people leaning out of one of the school's second story windows.
