Description
Album of photographs of Besse Slonaker and her family from Illinois, as well as later photos with husband Harry, primarily from the 1920s and 1930s; appears to have been compiled and annotated by Besse. Pages are labelled Wolf's Lake, Humboldt Park, Tuley High School, Lake Forest, "Alice Place", Notre Dame College, Edgebrook, Crystal Lake, Dam Number Two, July 4th Picnic to Diamond Lake, B.B.R. Camp, Bryn Mawr Beach, Graf Zeppelin (August 28, 1929), Logan Square Monument & Knights Templar Parade (1928), Office of James B. Clow & Sons (1929), Division Street (Chicago). Also includes trips to New York (May 1932, January 1933), Los Angeles, San Gabriel, Marietta Hot Springs, hike to Mt. Baldy, Lincoln Park (Los Angeles), Coloma (Michigan), Norton's Lake (Wisconsin), Burlington (Wisconsin), Greenfield Village (Dearborn, Michigan), Washington D.C. Photographs in the first 3/4 of the album from 1920s and 1930s are captioned. (Note - there is a snapshot of the Akron taken on a trip to New York City).
