Harold Brokaw's brother-in-law was A.R. Rideout, who was a leading figure in the Whittier area avocado industry, as well as developer of the neighborhood known as Rideout Heights. He discusses major players in the avocado industry in the early 1900s, as well as methods of cultivation.
