Description
View of residences on a hill which were built by the Stow family.
Mr. Stow came to Forbestown as a young man and was in charge of Gold Bank Mine. I believe his father was owner [he was]. This was the Stow (Harry) mansion at Forbestown -about -96. Anyway was built before we came to Forbestown. The mine Gold Bank was below it -where more than 150 men worked -quartz mine. The house on the hill above was built some years later for Mrs. Stow's Uncle, Ray Johnson. He married Miss Herrin-Mary Belle Brown's father's sister. She was a teacher friend of Aunt Kates. Had one son Roy Jr. whom Mrs. Stow & Elliot used to talk about when we visited them in Alameda.
