Mr Robert Macpherson was the headmaster and supervisor of schools at Chogoria, 1930-1940, and was married to Alta Knapp, the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs William P Knapp of the Gospel Missionary Society of America based at Kambui. John William Arthur headed the mission at Kikuyu.
