Description
This booklet, produced in 1972 by the Sacramento Indian Center Inc., was written to provide information about the institution and its activities. Some topics covered in this booklet include the Indian Assistance Program, the B.I.A., Indian Campgrounds, Inc., Health Programs, A.I.M., D. Quetzalcoatl University, and the Sacramento American Indian Halfway House. The Sacramento Indian Center recognized that "Indians in this area, as nationally, are the most poverty stricken of all minority groups." Their objective was "to counteract these social ills by programs of education, rehabilitation, job counseling, housing, family and individual counseling, plus emergency aids such as food (provided through donations and government surplus programs) - clothing, housing, furnishings, loans and grants, transportation, legal, medical, and psychological aid."
