Description
Photograph of men standing beside a Pacific Electric railway car in Torrance Shops, 1924. At center, a group of four men are seen standing in a circle beside a large railway car. The men all wear hats and are dressed in formal attire. Three of the men are seen pressing their hands against the body of the railway car. The car has a large rectangular base and a smaller rectangular cabin. To the left of the cabin's entry door, a small bell can be seen atop a platform. Above the bell on the top of the cabin, two headlights can be seen. On the top of the cabin to the right, a large metallic rod is visible extending further to the right. Along the side of the cabin, the words "Pacific Electric 1620" can be seen painted below the three windows. In the foreground, railway tracks are visible. In the background to the right, the interior of a large building is seen. In the extreme background to the left, piles of flat wooden structures are visible. Description on the back of the picture reads: "1620 at Torrance Shops in 1924. Motor was just built at Torrance".
