A dirt road. Grays River operation of the Portland Lumber Company. Log in foreground is going in. Steam from reader [roader?] can be seen at the top of the hill. The timber here was scattered and could not be reached with railroad so had 4 donkeys in string to haul to landing, about 2000 ft. Makes expensive logging
