Description: Plaque engraved, "In the centenary year of Scottish missions to India this tablet is erected by the Scottish churches in grateful remembrance of those who as messengers of Scottish Christianity first claimed India for Christ. Donald Mitchell-Jan. 1823. John Cooper-Aug. 1823. John Stevenson-Feb. 1824. James Mitchell-Aug.1823. Robert Nesbit-Sept. 1827. Alexander Crawford-Aug 1823. John Wilson-Feb. 1829. ‘The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Lord-Amen and Amen.’ (Last words of Donald Mitchell- Nov. 20 1823.)".
