At the time of the raid, the home at 1514 Schuyler Road was being rented out by its owner, actress Ann Dvorak; she was neither aware of nor involved with the "activities" which took place at her property.
Photograph caption dated May 28, 1951 reads, "Attorney Jess Whitehill shown with demurely dressed defendants, Sheila McDonald (second from left) and Mrs. Barrie Lazes (aka Benson)." McDonald and Benson were among the 6 women and 5 men who were busted during a vice raid at a Hollywood Hills home; Benson was considered the 'madame' of the home.
