In 1973, Frank Robinson founded Robinson Helicopter Company, which employs about 1,200 employees. In addition to manufacturing helicopters, Robinson includes a research and development division, has an overhaul program to service older helicopters and offers educational courses for flight instructors and maintenance technicians. On August 10, 2010, Frank Robinson announced his resignation as President and Chairman of the company.
