Description
Photograph of exterior at Llewellyn Iron Company, showing workers at construction site, ca.1930. To the right in the foreground, a single worker stands near a pile of dirt gripping a shovel. The worker stands fully erect and stares at the camera. He is seen wearing a pair of overalls and a brimmed hat. In the background at center, four additional workers can be seen, and two more workers are visible in the far background to the right. To the left of the workers, a large gorge has been sculpted into the dirt ground. Numerous planks and beams line the walls and floor of the pit. At ground level with the workers, several wooden stakes can be seen lodged into the ground. In the background to the right, a few wheelbarrows are visible next to a large pile of sandbags. To the left, workers stand near a large square cart. In the far background to the right, the exterior on an industrial site can be seen. Two large towers rise above the rows of steel beams visible. To the far left, large heaps of scrap metal and other trash sits near the site.
