Photograph caption dated May 31, 1960 reads, "Troy Bell, 39, left, patient at Sepulveda Veterans Hospital, talks with Jim Grimsley, North Hollywood fellow World War II veteran, who wants to be sure Bell isn't 'forgotten man' on Memorial Day. Bell, whose foot was torn off by land mine during battle for Ruhr River, also is victim of creeping bone disease from same wound."
