Home movies of Ursula Griswold Bingham. A rare glimpse of everyday life in Berkeley, CA in the early 1930s.
Note in original can - "This film starts with the autum of 1933 showing Anne and Clarissa near our place in Berkeley & ending with the school where Anne went to kindergarten. In January 1934 they are shown in winter clothes, then towards the end of February in swim suits. Then comes an Easter egg hunt with friends who are Allen & David Bissell (twins Clare's age) Betty Bisselll (about 8 yrs) Constance Bissell (Anne's age) and John Edwin Merriman (Anne's friend) his mother & Prof & Mrs Bissell - Then, in April 1934, Anne on her roller skates in the school grounds & Clarissa on a kiddie bar. The ? holy is the sister Elizabeth of Anne's friend Edith fore ? Jensen & I loved the walk. (over) This film should be sent as follows. From Ursula & Wood to Mrs. Matthew Griswold Sr. 608 Chestnut St. Erie, Pa. Then to Mr & Mrs. Lo E. S. Griswold, 883 Fifth Avenue, New York City. Then to Mrs. Herman (?) Bingham, 2633 Sixteenth Street, Washington D.C. or the the same at Salem Colchester P.O., Conn. Then return to the Urs & Wood again - Thank you. "
