Description
Shown is a postcard of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, located at Thirteenth and K streets in Sacramento, circa 1915. Erected in 1904, the church cost about 20,500 dollars to construct and remained in service until 1927. Due to the church's expanding congregation, a new building was needed to meet the demand. The Westminster Presbyterian Church's next location would be across Capitol Park on Thirteenth and N streets and cost 350,000 dollars to construct. Between the time in which the K Street location was torn down (in the Summer of 1927) and the N Street location remained under construction, the church held its services in the Memorial Auditorium located on J Street. A dedication program was held for the new location on December 18, 1927.
