12 photographs of Korea perhaps taken by Victor Wellington Peters and sent to his father, Dr. Fredus N. Peters. Depicted are: 1) children on a porch 2) hay[?] loaded wagons 3) ox cart loaded with stones 4) street scene with ox carts 5) a clapboard building 6) an over exposure 7) a tree 8) a brick house 9) an ivy covered building 10) woman on a bridge 11) a group of school children 12) quarry workers. On Photo 11 of this group, that is my Mother, the teacher on the right. Her name then was Hahn Haegyeong, or pen name Taekang, and also Alice Hahn Kim. Her husband was Rev. Jacob Sungduk Kim, who at the time was in the U.S. separated from his wife for 9 years until liberation from colonial rule. I am doing research for my second and third novels (first novel is The Calligrapher's Daughter), and am stunned to come across this image in your archives.
