Black and white photograph showing a pillow fight played at the leper colony run by the Primitive Methodist Missionary Society in Uzuakoli, southeast Nigeria. Two men sit on a pole across a shallow pool of water holding pillows, ready to start. Three missionaries stand at the side of the fight, and a group of Nigerian men, women and children stand around to watch. This photograph was taken at the Christmas celebrations at the leper colony in 1932, and the caption next to the image reads: "Sports at L.C - Pillow fight, Xmas 1932." This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey, Matron of the Ama Achara Methodist Hospital, also run by the Primitive Methodist Missionary Society.
