Photograph caption dated February 7, 1957 reads, "These five cagers represent the 'cream' of the Valley League crop this past season and were chosen today as the all-league first team by the Helms All-Southern California Board of Basketball. They are, from left, Tyson Roberts of Van Nuys, forward; Harley Rust of San Fernando High, forward; Ken Stanley of San Fernando, center and player-of-the-year for the circuit; Gary Johnson of Canoga Park, guard, and Ron Roderick of North Hollywood, guard. Johnson paced the scorers with 186 with Rust second with 180. San Fernando, co-champion with North Hollywood, lost to Manual Arts in finals." Pictured is Gary Johnson; newspaper clipping erroneously identified him as Ron Roderick. See images 00160516 and 00162701 for additional photos in this series.
