Texas-shaped area of pins shows territory covered by patrolmen, including 1500 miles of public roads and 200 miles of state highway, in all 2200 square miles. Heavy cluster below Lancaster represents Palmdale traffic toll while pins in lower left concentration are Newhall accidents.
