Description
Image of the coastline looking south towards Point Dume from the Roosevelt Highway (later Pacific Coast Highway), and beach houses along Broad Beach near Trancas Canyon at Rancho Malibu, California, with the Malibu Trading Post, Cafe, cafe, Gilmore gas station, and a "Malibu Beaches" billboard visible.
Highway 101 - Midway, Santa Monica to Oxnard, Calif." and "24"--text, on negative. Title transcribed from negative; date devised by cataloger based on caption with same image reproduced in Thomas W. Doyle, et al, Malibu Rails and Roads (Malibu Lagoon Museum, 2012) page 15: (ca. 1946) realigned Roosevelt Highway becomes Highway 101, with the old highway turning into Broad Beach Road.
