Description
The original one-room schoolhouse was in 1875 and shortly afterward a small cloakroom was added at the property on Buena Vista Ave., which had been deeded to the school district by Alexander Weil. Students of all ages posed before the old building in this photograph, which was one of many preserved by the Duarte Historical Society. (From Monrovia Daily News Post - Aug. 28, 1965) The school was later moved to Monrovia and is now a residence at 328 W. Olive. It is the oldest building in Monrovia.
