Holy Cross Hospital was founded by the Sisters of Holy Cross and was originally slated to be built in Panorama City. It was eventually built at 15031 Rinaldi Street in Mission Hills and opened in 1961. In 1996 the Sisters of Providence acquired the hospital and renamed it Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. Photograph caption dated March 5, 1958 reads "Solicitation of funds for Holy Cross Hospital in Panorama City area gets green light from Walter Brennan, right, on set of 'The Real McCoys,' as R. E. Driscoll, left, vice chairman of the special gifts section and Sister Virginia Marie, provincial of the Holy Cross Sisters, who will operate the $3,000,000 hospital, outline campaign. Mrs. Charles E. Pryor is directing th Panorama City general solicitation which got under way today." The Real McCoys television series was filmed at Desilu Studios in Hollywood.
