Description
This April 10, 1928, photograph shows the façade of the Christian Brothers’ School at the southeast corner of 21st and Y streets. To the left of the photograph is the 200-by-50-foot main academic building, with its classrooms, principal’s office, reception room, cafeteria, science laboratories and lecture rooms. Behind the middle arcade and chapel, the school’s gymnasium and auditorium were added just two years prior to this photograph for $60,000. On the far right of the photograph is the school’s dormitory building. It provided quarters for 12 brothers and 60 students. The photograph was taken from Y Street.
