Title supplied by cataloger. Lake Elsinore was incorporated on April 9, 1888 with a population of approximately 1,000. It is the largest natural freshwater lake in Southern California with 3,000 surface acres and over 14 miles of shoreline. Lake Elsinore is located in Riverside County, east of the Santa Ana Mountains and fed by the San Jacinto River; as of 2011, its population was 53,417 residents.
