Description
At this time, actor Hoot Gibson owned the stadium; the area later became the site of the Saugus Speedway, located at 22500 Soledad Canyon Road.
Scenes such as this are all in the day's work for your swashbuckling cowboy, and they go to make up the thrills of the Baker's Ranch Rodeo, to be presented May 27, 1934, at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. This shot was made during the recent festivities at the Saugus Ranch. No, the cowboy wasn't hurt. In fact, he was soon up twisting the ox's tail into soup! Leading buckaroos of the west take part in the great western show at the Rose Bowl.
