Description
Kristoffer A. Garin discusses his book, “Devils On the Deep Blue Sea.” Garin begins by talking about the poor work conditions on cruise ships and how difficult is it to gain any kind of employment on a ship. He discusses the differences of the major cruise lines Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Norwegian. He goes on to explain how cruise lines are able to avoid United States labor standards, worker strikes, and unionization. Garin concludes with discussing some downsides to the cruise line industry such as terrorism, security risks, and piracy.
