Photograph of Long Beach looking toward San Pedro and Sea Side Park, ca.1920. Two lifeguards(?) are in a small boat, rowing against the surf. There is a long line of waves breaking, and the lifeguards' boat is being pushed by one of them. There is a rollercoaster at the right of the picture, its wooden frame sticking out over the water. In the distance, there are several buildings, including a large cylindrical one directly behind the bow of the boat.
