Image of an advertisement for the Purdy Welch & Company Grand Mammoth Zoological Exhibition in the Troy Daily Whig newspaper of September 11, 1834, [page 4] featuring depictions of many wild animals, including pelicans, a zebra, jaguar, camel, gnu, and elephant; keepers are pictured inside cages with lions and hyenas with the caption, "The keeper will enter the cages with the Lions and Hyenas, at three o'clock. P.M." at bottom left; musicians of the Washington Military Band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, pictured at bottom right.
